The Stroll Down Memory Lane building was built by Adolph Homstad in 1912. Adolph and his father, E.A. Homstad lost their building and business in the flood of 1911. E.A. Homstad thought of himself to old to rebuild after the flood. The building was Homstad's Grocery from 1912 until the late 1930's when it then became the A&P Grocery. It continued as the A&P until 1970 when the A&P built a new location. In the early 1970's the buidling was then divided into 2 spaces and served as a beauty shop on one half and the Banner Journal Newspaper Office on the other half until the early 1990's. In the early 1990's it then became Pet Paradise until late in 2006.

This photo was taken of the window display in the late 1920's. It is advertising that "$40 would buy you this 10 years" on the left side and "Today $40 will buy you all of this" the rest of the window display.

This photo was taken in the late 1910's of Main Street in Black River Falls from the corner of the Courthouse looking to the east toward the Black River. This building is the first building on the right side.
